Robotics is advancing at a rapid pace, and a new creation is catching the public’s attention: O thermonator.
Developed in a collaboration between the American company ThrowFlame and the Chinese Unitree, this robotic dog equipped with an ARC flamethrower arouses curiosity and sparks discussions about its purpose.
Based on the popular Unitree GO1, the robot packs impressive firepower. Crafted from 6061T6 aluminum and finished in matte black, its ARC flamethrower has a remarkable range of up to 100 meters.
This creation combines advanced robotic technology with the power of the flamethrower to create a unique and mesmerizing machine.
Thermonator, the dog that throws flames
While ThrowFlame has no intention of positioning the robot as a weapon, it’s hard to ignore the flamethrower’s presence in its design and the potential controversy it could generate.
The discussion about the purpose of the Thermonator is valid, as robotic technology must be developed and used responsibly. It is important to consider the potential uses and implications of this type of creation, taking into account safety and ethical considerations.
The technology used in Thermonator’s ARC flamethrower is truly fascinating. By using a plasma ignition button instead of a traditional open flame, the device offers significant advantages in terms of safety and control.
Power is supplied by a custommade battery pack of 18650 LiIon cells, similar to those made by the renowned Tesla company.
These energyefficient, highcapacity cells allow the robot to run continuously for over 45 minutes on just a full charge.
Throwflame is offering preorders for the Thermonator. Delivery of the first batch is expected in the third quarter of 2023.
While the price hasn’t been officially announced yet, it’s worth noting that Throwflame’s ARC flamethrower has a market value of around $699.
