These Corona rules apply to holidays in Italy

Italy extends current rules for travel to and from abroad until May 31. Travelers to Italy must continue to present a vaccination certificate or a negative rapid test. The obligation to fill in the European form for determining the whereabouts of travelers (Passenger Locator Form) will be abolished next Sunday (1 May). This obligation took effect on May 24, 2021.

Italy will extend the mask requirement on trains, subways and buses, as well as for visitors to indoor events, until at least June 15. Health Minister Roberto Speranza announced on Thursday that, until then, masks would have to be used on public transport, as well as in cinemas, theaters or sports halls. Elsewhere, for example in restaurants or at work, the mask requirement will no longer apply on May 1.

After the state of emergency ended at the end of March, the green passport – that is, proof of 2-G or 3-G – will also be completely eliminated at the end of April. Visitors to restaurants, bars, cinemas, concerts, clubs or shops no longer need to present a certificate. Until the end of the year, the green pass will only be required to enter hospitals or health centers, which previously was also required for access to the workplace.
