Mamma Mia!

Cheerful, colorful and lively, the Mamma Mia! The year 2008 is the perfect sunshine. Meryl Streep plays a mother whose daughter, played by Amanda Seyfried, has to get married. But now the mother in question doesn’t know who the father is and is hesitating between Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard (not the worst choice, let’s face it!). This sparkling comedy for the whole family is set to music with the energetic songs of the band ABBA… which also guarantee a karaoke afternoon or evening that will put you in a good mood.

red alert

An animated film had to be included in this list of suggestions, and here it is! Ideal for mothers of young children, this feature film from Domee Shi (Oscar winner for her outstanding short film Bao, available on Disney+) follows Mei (voice of Rosalie Chiang in the Original Version) who transforms into a giant red-headed panda when she feels an intense emotion. The 13-year-old teenager’s first instinct is to hide this condition from her mother, who is a bit overprotective (voice of Sandra Oh), but she eventually notices and tells her daughter the family story. Extremely well thought out, Red Alert (2022) is Pixar’s first feature film set in a Canadian city – in this case Toronto – and directed by a woman. Billie Eilish also composed a song for the film.
