Mexican immigration authorities arrested a group of 32 migrants who had traveled illegally to the United States, including nine citizens of Cuban origin.
According to a statement by the Minister of Defense (Sedena), the Cubans were spotted aboard a parcel trailer during an operation by the Mexican army in the municipality of Allende, Coahuila.
The truck was spotted by security forces at the old checkpoint at kilometer 53 where a checkpoint was set up.

The Kenworth-branded vehicle belonged to the company Exprés Leal SA de CV and had left Nuevo León for Piedras Negras, where the migrants would attempt to enter US territory.
In addition to Cuban citizens, the parcel trailer also transported people from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, and Sedena also reported that four minors were among the migrants.
Authorities arrested three people from Nuevo León accused of being involved in the illegal transfer of migrants. They were identified as Juan Jesús “N”, 30 years old; Jesús Alberto “N”, 34, and Uriel “N”, 23.
The statement notes the migrants were found in overcrowded conditions, with some showing symptoms of dehydration and shortness of breath.
The 32 foreigners were left in the care of the National Institute for Migration (INM), which promised them assistance, food and medical care to later initiate the necessary procedures to determine the migrants’ destination in Aztec territory.
In recent months, Mexico has seen an increase in the number of Cubans trying to cross its territory to get to the United States as a result, authorities note Dozens of them travel hidden in different types of vehicles.
Last week, a group of nearly 100 foreigners were spotted crammed into the back of a trailer, including 17 people came from Cuba.
The trailer was traveling on the Saltillo-Torreón State Highway in Coahuila and its driver was left in the care of the Federal Ministry of Public Affairs.
