They cancel Don Omar’s concerts in Bolivia and arrest his brother

The concerts of the Puerto Rican singer Don Omar in Bolivian were suspended yesterday Thursday over the artist’s difficulties in reaching the country, leading to the arrest of his representative and the organizers of the event, who are accused “Multiple Victim Fraud”.

In statements to the media, the director of the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc), Rolando Rojas, reported that those responsible for the organization, including the singer’s brother Héctor Landrón, were arrested “for investigative purposes”.

That’s what the police chief said “The confirmation was that (the concert) would take place today”, as there was already a first cancellation of the presentation, which was to take place in the cities of La Paz and Santa Cruz in early December.

Rojas stated that “a lot of people got their tickets”, even from domestic, waiting for the event to take place outside of La Paz’s main stadium.

The arrest of the organizers came after the press conference offered by the organizers of the event to explain the reasons why the singer could not arrive in Bolivia to meet the events in La Paz and Santa Cruz.

Héctor Landron mentioned that Don Omar had to take a private flight that would take him from the United States to La Paz, but that the plane the supplier company was offering “didn’t have the necessary safety requirements,” so the payment couldn’t be processed Authorization to land a new plane on time.

As an alternative, the singer’s brother and representative offered to postpone the presentation in La Paz and Santa Cruz for a day, even mentioning that he himself would stay “as a guarantee” and noting that “the artist will come”.

The event’s cancellation caused the anger of thousands of fans, who protested the organization of the event and called on those responsible to “come out and show their face” for the inconvenience.

The Deputy Department of Consumer Protection first announced a fine of about $3,400 in residential building units (UFV), to be determined by prosecutors.

A similar situation occurred in June last year when Mexican Christian Nodal’s concert in La Paz was canceled a few hours after his performance, although he had previously performed in Santa Cruz.
