MOSCOW, June 30 (Portal) – Russia has said the use of civilian facilities in the city of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region to house foreign mercenaries from Ukraine violates international humanitarian law.

“We have not seen a single confirmed case of the Russian army deliberately bombing civilian objects. “The fact that Ukrainians use civilian facilities in violation of international humanitarian law and commit a war crime is Ukraine’s fault,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a briefing.

On the other hand, the diplomat pointed out that with the conflict in Ukraine, the West is trying to buy time to arm Kiev and threaten Russia’s borders.

“They will seek some kind of ceasefire and buy time to re-strengthen Ukraine militarily, create new military infrastructure and transfer new long-range lethal weapons there,” Lavrov stressed.

Recently, Russia’s investigative committee opened criminal cases against 160 mercenaries from 33 countries involved in hostile actions in Ukraine.

Since February 24, 2022, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine aimed at demilitarizing and denazifying the Kiev government, which had harassed the Donbass region for eight years. (PL) (Photo: Sputnik)
