A video is circulating on social networks of the confrontation between two Cubans with machetes in the middle of the street in the municipality of Centro Habana; as citizens’ concerns grow over the increase in violence in Cuba.
The images show a fight between two young people and took place in Galeano and Zanja. Dozens of users on social networks also regret the new trend of filming critical events in complete passivity, without helping or assisting those involved.
“And there were no men? How can you watch this calmly and do nothing? “This is unprecedented, so much blood, a machete and everyone cackling like chickens,” one person wrote while watching the video.
“And people won’t let go of their phones and help…hold Cuba,” said another user, while someone explained, “The police always arrest innocent people.”
The reasons that led to such a fight are currently unknown. Other Cubans deplore the confrontation between peers as police focus on pursuing activists and opponents.
“And the police are watching an opponent a block away so that he doesn’t leave his house to buy bread. Meanwhile, the Cubans have the courage to hack each other with machetes, but whoever lets them drag and starve kisses their boots. “What a shame,” emphasized one user.
“Such videos are shameful. “It should not be recorded, they should not allow mistreatment between the same people, I would be ashamed to be the one who recorded this video and besides, people must be united against the government, but no, they do it among themselves” said someone else added.
