They hack the websites of Cuban faculties with messages against repression and Díaz Canel

Anonymous Cuba has started the year by removing the security pages of various faculties of the University of Havana, placing inside them caricatures of the Cuban leaders, photos showing episodes of oppression and offensive messages against Miguel Díaz-Canel demanding the end of the Dictatorship.

The pages affected are psychology, tourism, physics, art and literature, economics, accounting and finance, and geography, all of which end in .cu. The servers of some of them have already blocked access for the public, but the action can be traced in the cached pages managed by Google. “Down with the dictatorship” or “Díaz-Canel singao” were some of the slogans to be read.

The attack comes “as a protest against another year of dictatorship. This is the first action of the year showing that we are actively fighting,” says a hooded man in a video released by Digital Resistance, in which they explain the reasons for this hack and publish the evidence of their intervention.

“We don’t want to harm the people, only the system, and these actions represent a protest. It’s like writing a sign ‘Down with the dictatorship’ in the Plaza de la Revolución.”

The message encourages you to keep an eye on the group’s social networks for updates on further promotions. “There are many important things ahead. Down with the dictatorship. Long live Cuba Libre,” he continues.

“You will wonder what damage this is doing to the regime. We don’t want to harm the people, just the system, and these actions constitute a protest. It’s like writing a ‘down with the dictatorship’ poster in the Plaza de la Revolución.” ,” he adds.

The voice goes on to say that the affected sides are “indoctrination centers” because they belong to the state, but also to educational institutions.

The collective’s YouTube channel added a message in the video’s description describing their core message. “We want to show our young Cubans that they have to react, everything is a farce and they are the ones who can initiate change. They are being deceived.”

The Cuban Resistance claims to have shut down several other sites linked to the government as well as the official press in December. In August, they also carried out one of the most shocking actions, leaking Sol Meliá’s management and marketing contracts, as well as thousands of customer complaint emails bemoaning the deplorable conditions of many hotels, including the visible presence of vermin.

After this activity, the group posted a message mocking criticism of the ruling party “And now waiting for the payment from the CIA, it will be … always a donation. It would be a great help to continue, it takes a lot of hours and a lot of work. FIRE OF DICTATORSHIP,” they wrote. The tweet will be pinned to their profile.
