Havana, November 4 (Prensa Latina) Eros Bernal, methodologist of the National Baseball Commission for the five-a-side modality, highlighted today the preparation of the Cuban team in view of the World Cup from 7th to 13th this month.
The director praised the Antilles’ training and gave a special mention to the commitment of the men and women who are members of the cast to face the fair, which will be played in Mexico City, the weekly Jit reported in its digital edition.
Cuba is in Group A along with representatives from Japan, Hong Kong, Lithuania, South Africa and Mexico.
According to the preliminary round program, the Caribbean team will face South Africa and Lithuania on Tuesday 8th November, Hong Kong and Mexico a day later and finally Japan on Thursday 10th.
The president of the National Sports Institute, Osvaldo Vento, championed the Cuban team at the Fragua Martiana in that capital today.
Vento received the national flag from the hands of Cuban sporting glory, former shortstop Rodolfo Puente, also vice president of the Cuban Baseball Federation.
In the other key of universal struggle appear the schools of France, Kenya, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Tunisia and Venezuela.
The top three places in each section will advance to the November 11-12 Super Round and draw their bilateral results. That is, only those classified in the other zone are measured in this case.
The two best-placed teams from this phase will contest the crown on November 13, shortly afterwards the third and fourth contest the bronze medal.
