A Cuban woman has been identified among the people in serious condition following the tragic traffic accident in Honduras in which a bus fell from the bridge over the Higuito River, local media reported.
The Tras La Noticia Danlí space stated that Arenia Llenena Gil, a Cuban citizen, is among those seriously injured as a result of the incident that has so far left four people dead and more than 20 injured.
“In the early hours of this Sunday, a tragic accident occurred when a bus full of migrants of various nationalities entered a dangerous curve on the CA-4 highway in western Honduras and fell into the Higuito River,” they explained.
The bus full of migrants was heading to the Agua Caliente border but crashed over the bridge over the Higuito River.
According to information from Western Region Fire Department Commander Jimmy Orellana, “Two lifeless bodies have been recovered so far, but rescue operations are continuing as it is feared that there may be more trapped victims.”
In the report, they said at least six people were urgently taken to Western Hospital in critical condition.
“Although there are more injured people whose condition is stable, they are receiving medical attention on site due to the accident that occurred in the early hours of the morning at the level of the Higuito River, 20 injured from Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador.” were reported in Western Hospital and in Cuba, six of whom were admitted to the different rooms of this health center,” emphasized Tras La Noticia Danlí.
The patients admitted in serious condition are: Alirio David Gonzales (Venezuelan). Liliana Edelmira Casicano of Ecuadorian nationality (minor) Nayeli Nasimar Mugica Villalobo (minor). Arenia Llenena Gil, Cuban national. Yasmari Sara Gonzales, 32 years old, Venezuelan. Narciso Yengo Chacha, 39 years old.
