Caracas, March 26 – Venezuela’s State Ministry opened investigations into two registered bomb attacks in the western state of Zulia the previous day, Attorney General Tarek William Saab reported.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, the owner offered details on the appointment of the Prosecutor’s Office 77 to lead the investigation into the launching of an explosive device against the headquarters of the state courts, which caused material damage to the facade of the aforementioned courthouse.
Likewise, Saab indicated that prosecutors will also investigate the facts surrounding the detonation of a grenade at the Fiorella supermarket in Maracaibo, which injured several people.
According to press reports, two people on a motorcycle came to the trading post to set off the explosives, which were recorded by surveillance cameras.
Earlier, Venezuelan security forces foiled an attack on the Rafael Urdaneta thermoelectric complex in the municipality of Cañada de Urdaneta, also in the western demarcation, Electric Energy Minister Néstor Reverol reported.
Gunmen attempted to disrupt operations at the facility in the early hours of this Friday morning, a situation repelled by military personnel, with the remainder of one attacker killed during the confrontation.
