They move the chair and the Governor Vincenzo De Luca falls to the ground. The unpleasant incident occurred this morning on the occasion of the 2023 year-end toast at the Palazzo Santa Lucia and was captured in a video that immediately went viral in chats. Fortunately, the President of the Campania Regional Council did nothing about it. As can be seen in the pictures, De Luca immediately stands up and, with the usual irony, also jokes about the episode that just happened: «The usual dry doors”he says with a smile and then invites a guest in the room to go on stage to toast with him. Apparently someone in the audience always had their phone on and so the sensational fall became a viral video that was forwarded many times on WhatsApp and then shared on social networks.
De Lucas Stab: “The president is fine, just a small accident”
«Luckily the president is fine, only a small accident can happen», reassures his employees at Fanpage.it. In short, it was a random accident – as unfortunately can happen – without serious consequences. In the pictures you can see De Luca sitting in the middle of the table and standing up for the end of year toast. Immediately afterwards, a service employee comes by to pick up the chair, presumably so that the usual photos can be taken afterwards without any other disturbing objects being present.
However, De Luca unexpectedly sits down again, apparently without realizing that the chair behind him was no longer there, and therefore falls catastrophically to the ground. Immediate help from concerned bystanders. Fortunately, the fall does not appear to have had any serious consequences. De Luca is fine and as you can see in the video, he stands up immediately afterwards with a smile on his face, even jokes with the audience and then continues the ceremony as if nothing had happened.
Stadio Collana, Vincenzo De Luca: “Ready in two years, 40 million investment”
The pictures of Vincenzo De Luca's fall
In recent months, the debate about a possible third mandate for De Luca in the 2025 regional elections, which is currently not possible by law (a regional regulation that De Luca wants to change), has been intense and not without disputes within the Democratic Party. The energetic former mayor of Salerno, 74, has led the Campania region since 2015, was re-elected in 2020 and enjoyed popularity throughout the rest of Italy with his live Friday broadcasts during the Covid pandemic. An intellectual, affable speaker prone to sarcasm, he was also the subject of the actor's satire Maurizio Crozzawhich made him one of his most successful characters.
