Now this devotion is reaching its peak with the announcement of the opening of a World of Belgian Beer, a museum that even has a tasting area and will welcome its first visitors this weekend.
The world of Belgian beer opens its doors this Saturday in the former headquarters of the Stock Exchange, a project aimed at transforming the place into a tourist attraction in Brussels.
When presenting the museum to the press, Brussels Mayor Philippe Close pointed out that another aim was to support a large economic sector.
In Belgium, a country of 11.5 million people, there are 430 breweries that create 6,900 direct jobs and another 50,000 indirect jobs, according to current official data.
In addition, the Association of Belgian Breweries claims that 70 percent of all production is destined for export.
