Last Friday coach Juan Reynoso unveiled his likely first list of players to be called up for the Peru team for the friendlies against Mexico and El Salvador. Along with a few surprises on the payroll, a curious blooper caught fans’ attention that initially went unnoticed but later had widespread repercussions on the networks.
What was the mistake in the list?
During the conference, the official account of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) published the “chess players” call. Everything seemed fine so far. However, there was one detail with the player Christopher Gonzalez.
In the list, the names of the footballers appear next to their respective clubs. In the case of ‘Canchita’ he was placed as a Sporting Cristal player while he currently plays for Al-Adalah in the Arab League.

Reynoso on his squad list
During his conference, Juan Máximo Reynoso explained some details about the work he will be doing with the Bicolor. “As with any new process, there is a transition. I come to look (…) at what has been built and set out details. It would be improper on my part to (take out) 15 out of the 28 or 30 that were subpoenaed and start a new trial. The intention is to talk hand in hand with the guys, to clarify the rules, set the guidelines for selection and from that point of view know that we are all competing,” said the ‘Cabezón’.

When does Peru play?
The FPF confirmed that the Peruvian team will compete Mexico Nice The saviour in September. The game against the Aztecs is scheduled for the next midnight at 20:00 (Peruvian time) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The second friendly will take place three days later at 20:00 (Peruvian time) at the Audi field.
Which players has Reynoso left out?
Some regulars that “Cabezón” haven’t called are defender Christian Ramos, full-back Miguel Trauco, midfielder Gabriel Costa and midfielder Raziel García.
