Half a million Ukrainians were deported to Russia. Where they are destined to become economic migrants and cheap labour. The complaint comes from the Russian newspaper The Insider, which collected the testimonies of Ukrainian MP Dmitry Lubinets. While, according to Ukrainian Ombudswoman Tatyana Lomakina, as of April 8, 400,000 Ukrainians have been forced into Russia. Lubinets, on the other hand, has 500,000, including 100,000 children. According to the Russian authorities, these are refugees who came to Russia voluntarily.
18,000 new Russian citizens
Oleg Kadochnikov, deputy head of the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, said that 18,000 people came to Russia from the two people’s republics recognized by Moscow, who had already received citizenship. However, according to the Ukrainian authorities, most of them were forcibly taken to Russia. The Russians have opened 400 temporary reception centers in 35 regions, but according to the newspaper it is impossible to control them. When the Russians take a zone, they set up roadblocks. But even when the corridors are agreed, the soldiers sometimes make the refugees change route and send them to Russia. The only transport connections that currently exist between Russia and Estonia are buses, and according to Rait Remmel, board member of bus company Lux Express, more than 20% of passengers on the EstoniaRussia route are citizens of other villages lately. The number of Ukrainian refugees has increased. They arrived from Mariupol in Russia and are on their way to Estonia via St. Petersburg.
