‘They’re all full of shit’: LIV golfers may pay dearly for planting executives and teammates

AUGUSTA – The words of Harold Varner III in the Washington Post open your eyes. In a long interview with the prestigious American newspaper, he explains the reasons why he came to LIV Golf, which brought him a signing bonus of more than 15 million dollars.

The American didn’t walk with the back of the spoon before making his way to the Masters tournament.

He planted the fork right in the ebony table!

Referring to his trophy he won at the Public Investment Fund Saudi International tournament in February 2022, he said he “didn’t care”.

But most importantly, it does not support the county’s policy, echoed by its commissioner Greg Norman, who believes golf can serve as an element of world diplomacy. Jaws also believes LIV can help the sport grow.

According to Varner III, these reasons are hypocritical. It’s all about the money.

“They’re all full of shit. Trying to line their pockets, Varner III castigates. I tell them all the time. They don’t play at this circuit to make this damn sport grow.”

Accept the consequences

Varner III is ready to face the consequences of his move to LIV Golf. At the end of 2022, he was ranked 50th in the world and narrowly managed to place himself in the plateau of the Masters tournament. It has since slipped to 60th place. He is aware that his days are numbered for competing in the major championships. Among other things, they use the world rankings as a selection criterion.

The LIV Golf Circuit’s application to integrate the world ranking list has still not progressed. This is a lengthy process that can take years.

Golfers must therefore be patient in order to be able to hope for valuable points at their events.

“If they tell me I can’t play in big tournaments anymore, I have to accept that. But some of these bastards want their cake and eat other people’s cake, Varner III imagined. You knew it would be wrong. It’s like an attack on the government. Much luck.”

It remains to be seen whether Varner III, a member of the Range Goats and captained by two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, will be fined for his comments against his circuit. This is against the terms of the contract.
