Guest of CNEWS’ morning show this Wednesday, Thibault de Montbrial, president of the Center for Internal Security Reflection, returned to the flight of Imam Hassan Iquioussen, whose expulsion by Gérald Darmanin was confirmed by the Council of State on Tuesday. “It shows how little he cares about the values of the republic,” he said.
Hassan Iquioussen is on the run. While the Council of State has confirmed his expulsion following his statements against Jews or women, the imam cannot be located. “It shows how little he cares about the values of the Republic,” said attorney Thibault de Montbrial, president of the Center for Interior Security Reflection.
“It is not possible to know in detail what surveillance he was under, but a priori there was no particular need to pursue the Islamist target that he represents on a permanent basis. It’s a little surprise for everyone,” he said.
He then insisted on “citing the two reasons why the Council of State has confirmed the expulsion of this Imam”: “The first is the repeated anti-Semitic discourse, which constitutes acts of explicit and deliberate provocation of discrimination or hatred, and the second reason is a systematic discourse on women’s inferiority that theorizes women’s subordination to men and implies that women cannot enjoy the same freedoms or rights as men.
“This is the person we are talking about,” stressed Thibault de Montbrial. “He is evading justice even though Morocco, of which he is a national, had agreed to take him in,” he concluded.
