Things are going very well for Jonathan Drouin in Colorado

By the way, Quebecer Jonathan Drouin is in the process of securing his place in the front row of the Colorado Avalanche.

On Sunday evening, the former Montreal Canadiens played alongside Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen in a preseason duel against the Dallas Stars.

Drouin was head coach Jared Bednar’s most frequently used forward, spending just over 18 minutes on the ice. The 28-year-old winger provided an assist that enabled the “Avs” to win 4-3 in overtime against the Texas club. Watch the video above.

“I loved Drouin’s speed tonight [dimanche]said Bednar, whose comments were reported by the website thednvr.com. He did some really good things with his speed and made some great plays in five-on-five games and on the power play. He also applied a lot of pressure. I really like his effort and what he’s bringing us right now.”

In July, Drouin signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with the Avalanche. The Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts native was a free agent after spending six seasons with the Habs.

In his last tour with Sainte-Flanelle, Drouin scored twice and had 27 assists for 29 points in 58 games.
