Shocked by the price of pumps? The cost of your next flight could skyrocket too
We’ve all been doing a double take at the gas station lately.
But once you’ve come to terms with the fact that some prices are as high as $2 a litre, you should brace yourself for the cost of flying too.
Experts say air passengers should expect a shock from the stickers soon.
The cost of jet fuel is driven by the same forces that have driven gasoline prices to their highest levels in years.
Jet fuel is one of the biggest costs airlines incur, so experts say the jump will affect the price travelers pay to fly, if not already. More

She called on TD Bank to accuse her of donating to the Ukraine relief effort. It made a big difference
Kristin Rusek, a Canadian-Ukrainian, interrogates TD Bank after she was charged and then awarded $50 for her donation to aid Ukraine days after Russia’s invasion of the country.
Rusek says she went to the local TD branch on March 1 to contribute $1,600 to a special fund set up by the Ukrainian government.
Her donations and those of other Canadians who support the foundation were collected by the BMO branch in downtown Toronto and then transferred to the National Bank of Ukraine, the central bank, and then sent to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
After arranging the transaction, Rusek was told by a TD teller that she must pay a $50 wire transfer fee, the standard fee for customers sending a bank payment from a TD branch to a non-TD account in Canada or abroad.
“I paid and didn’t get upset about it,” Rusek told CBC Toronto. “But the next day I started thinking about it and realized it was wrong.”
After emailing TD expressing her concern the day after the donation, she was told two days later — after CBC News contacted the bank about the situation — that she would be reimbursed.
Now TD says it will waive all fees for bank transfers to Ukraine and will refund those who, like Rusek, initially charged for their donations. All other major Canadian banks also waive commissions. More

After a credit report mix-up, these newlyweds say they lost their window to buy a house.
There is no shortage of signs that the housing market has gotten a little out of hand over the past few years.
The average home price in Canada is at an all-time high and as any potential buyer knows, the difference between a successful and unsuccessful home bid can often come down to something as simple as timing.
Jessica Rochon and her wife, Alison Holmes, learned the hard way after they were denied mortgage pre-approval due to bad credit by someone else – a woman with almost the same name as Rochon, who lives in Quebec. .
The two Rochons are unrelated and have never met, but their Equifax credit history appears to have been jumbled up on the same file, causing financial problems – and a lot of headaches – for Rochon in Ottawa.
After an investigation, Go Public Equifax fixed the problem, but Rochon and Holmes say it’s too late – they’ve lost the opportunity to buy the house they wanted. More
