Third G20 Meeting on Culture begins in India

In the third session of the working group, which ends on July 12, the delegates of the G20 member countries and guests as well as international organizations will also discuss the promotion of the creative industries and the use of technologies to secure the sector.

During the event, participants will share their experiences and best practices to position culture as an engine for recovery and sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development.

Starting tomorrow, the event will feature a round table on the preamble and guiding principles of the work to develop and preserve culture, as well as sessions to analyze the strategies to be followed to achieve this goal.

Participants will also provide updates on the G20 cultural projects, the organization of the fourth meeting in Varanasi and a report on thematic webinars in this area.

According to the organizers, India will take the opportunity to showcase its rich heritage and cultural diversity during the event in the former capital of the 14th-century Vijayanagar Empire, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Delegates will visit the historical monuments and Hampi digital museum, and enjoy performances by leather doll artists, ganjifa crafts, bidri and kinhal crafts, among others.
