Since it is possible to run Android applications on Windows 11, applications that facilitate the process multiply. However, some are not as benevolent as they claim. This is particularly the case with Windows Toolbox, which actually contains malware that executes malicious scripts and spies on the infected PC.

If Windows 11 wasn’t the expected revolution, the operating system still has an important argument: possibility Run Android apps. The functionality was certainly a bit overdue, but it’s definitely here now. However, users will have to be content with the Amazon AppStore for the time being. But like any limitation on PC, there is a solution to bypass it.
Thus, several unofficial applications allow the installation of the Google Play Store on Windows 11 and therefore also the Android applications hosted by it. It remains to choose with caution among the multitude of proposals, since there is a risk that infect with malware is never far away. New evidence discovered by our colleagues at Bleeping Computer confirms this rule. Today it is the utility company with the name Windows toolbox.

Beware of this fake Windows 11 app, it is a trap
The latter was published on Github and has already seen many downloads. It has now been removed from the platform, but the damage has already been done. According to Bleeping Computer, it actually installs Windows Toolbow malicious Chrome extensions and runs scripts capable of scheduling tasks and preventing other processes from occurring.
Added to this is the creation of a “systemfile” folder that contains the profiles copied from Chrome, Edge and Brave recover the victim’s personal data. There, for example, location information of the user can be found. Finally, while trying to visit WhatsApp site, victim gets redirected to malicious websites that try to scam them.
Given this very real threat, we advise you to do sowait a little before that to throw you on unofficial applications to install the Google Play Store. According to the various betas provided by Microsoft, it shouldn’t take long for them to arrive on our PCs. Until then, there are other solutions to install APKs of Android apps.
