Jean-François Mercier is one of those brave personalities who agreed to take part in the first edition of Sortez-moi d’ici on TVA, thus recklessly confronting several fears, phobias and difficult situations.
When we met him on the red carpet at Gala les Olivier on Sunday, we wanted to know more about Jean-François Mercier’s experiences in the Costa Rican jungle.
Specifically, we asked him if he experienced moments of panic or anger that weren’t caught on camera, to which the comedian, author, and comedian affirmed.
“It wasn’t recorded on the editorial board, but yes, it happened,” he confirms. “Jean-Michel, the chef, he took me aside. He is really cute. He’s a competitor, he’s a guy who wants to win, but he’ll never try to hurt you to win. He will win by being better than himself, not better than others. He really is a good guy! »
He continues: “He pulled me aside and said, ‘You know, JF, it’s not called an all-inclusive Caribbean cruise. It says get me out of here there and somewhere, that’s what you came for.” Those words had a very positive impact on the player, who came to his senses and wanted to move on: “It’s true, that’s what we’re going to look for. Otherwise we stay at home!”
Jean-François Mercier went back to one challenge in particular, which you can see, recalling how painful the experience was: “We get garbage in our faces, in the bright sun. They must have cut it when they cut it, but at some point I’ll swallow a wasp. On the spot it is two hours blindfolded, emptying … It was not comfortable! »
The program Sortez-moi d’ici is shown on TVA on Sundays at 18:30.
Jean-Philippe Dion here returns to an event between Marianne St-Gelais and host Alexandre Barrette that left the Olympic medalist in tears.
Note that Jean-François Mercier recently appeared in the series Les bombes à Séries Plus, where he portrayed an absolutely moving character in therapy, a great achievement on his part.
On Sunday, he was joined by his sister Marie-Claude on Olivier’s red carpet. See our photos taken during the event here.
