More than six months have passed since the death of Julián Figueroa and this is the relationship between Maribel Guardia and her daughter-in-law Imelda Tuñón.
Following Julián Figueroa’s death on April 9, he is survived by his son José Julián and his widow Imelda Garza Tuñón.
Since their deaths, they both lived with Maribel Guardia, their grandmother and mother-in-law, respectively. With this in mind, the actress revealed the relationship she has with the wife of her first-born son.
“I see Imelda as a daughter. I don’t see this relationship between daughter-in-law and mother-in-law anymore. Besides, I always got along very well with her. I’ve always really respected their relationship.
“She is a beautiful girl,” Guardia confessed to the media. “I see her now as a child and I want to protect her, take care of her, spoil her. She has her family of course, but she lives with me and it is my obligation, but it comes from my heart, as the song says, to care for her, protect her and love her as long as she allows me to do so do.”
They even went on a family trip to fulfill one of the wishes left unfulfilled by the late singer. “Julián’s dream was to take Juliancito to Disneyland, but the pandemic came, they hadn’t given him an American visa. Because Julián had very nice moments as a child; I worked a lot back then, every weekend in the USA; That’s why I always took him with me and he spent part of his childhood at Disneyland,” he revealed.
“We had already planned this trip with Julián, but since this happened, it was like a family command for José Julián to visit these places and live Julián’s dream,” he added. “Life goes on. How wonderful to be able to carry on a part of my life from this child’s perspective. Make his dreams come true, because the love of his life was his son. And as long as God gives me life, I will try to accompany him “To love him, to guide him. If Imelda allows me, because it will depend a lot on her.”
