The storm expected Thursday night should leave a thick carpet of white in several areas of Quebec. Here’s the list of regions by number of inches of snow expected, according to Environment Canada.

Up to 15 cm accumulations in the more northerly sectors (mixture of rain and snow): Estrie

15 to 20 cm of snow: Îles-de-la-Madeleine

15 to 25 inches of snow: Beauce, Drummondville – Bois-Francs, Haute-Gatineau – Lièvre – Papineau, Lachute – Saint-Jérôme, Lanaudière, Laurentians, Mauricie, Metropolitan Montreal – Laval, Quebec, Vallée-du-Richelieu – Saint -Hyacinthe and Vaudreuil – Soulanges – Huntingdon

More than 25 centimeters on Friday: Matane, Rimouski – Mont-Joli, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts – Grande-Vallée, Charlevoix and Saguenay

20 to 30 centimeters of snow until Saturday: Amqui – Matapédia Valley, Gatineau, Kamouraska – Rivière-du-Loup – Trois-Pistoles, Montmagny – L’Islet, New Carlisle – Chandler, National Park Forillon – Gaspé – Percé, National Park Gaspésie – Murdochville, Restigouche – Bonaventure and Temiscouata.

Some areas near the New Brunswick border may experience an extended spell of freezing rain on Friday. In the south and center of the province, snow could also mix with freezing rain on Friday morning.

Anticosti, Baie-Comeau, Blanc-Sablon, Chevery, Les Escoumins – Forestville, Minganie, Natashquan and Sept-Îles – Port-Cartier will gradually see more “persistent snow” throughout the day, with “blizzards” possible through Saturday, according to Environment Canada.
