Looking for some motivation to start the week? Meet Sharmistha Ghosh, a small tea shop owner who hopes to one day start a chain of tea cafés. Ms Ghosh is a Post Graduate in English Literature and runs a small chai stand on wheels (popularly called Raydee) in Delhi Cantt’s Gopinath Bazar.

Ms Ghosh was previously linked to the British Council and, hoping to start something of her own, decided to quit her job. She has a vision and dreams of making it as big as Chaiyos, the famous tea house that can be found everywhere. Her story was shared on LinkedIn by retired Indian Army Brigadier Sanjay Khanna.

Along with a picture of Ms Ghosh, he wrote: “I got curious and asked her why. She mentioned that she has a vision and a dream to make it as big as Chaayos, the famous tea house that is everywhere.”

Ms Ghosh’s friend Bhavna Rao, who works for Lufthansa, is also a mutual partner in running this small chai stand. Ms Ghosh’s domestic help gets together in the evening and operates on the small makeshift type of structure and goes back.

Ms. Khanna wrote in his post: “I am writing this post and also posting this photo with her permission as I believe that there is nothing that can be described as a menial/small job and such people need to be singled out to to motivate others. He added, “One must have the passion and integrity to work toward their dream to make it come true.”

“I have met many highly skilled youth who are desperate and looking for a decent job of professional rank. This message goes to you. I am a firm believer that one doesn’t always have to end up with high qualifications and a high job, but to think of small ways and means to achieve and thrive in the long run,” he concluded.
