While everyone remembers and often talks about the time Marilyn Monroe sang a sexy “Happy Birthday,” no one seems to remember another of John F. Kennedy’s supposed A-list mistresses doing the same thing the following year.
According to Biography, Kennedy’s alleged former flame Audrey Hepburn sang “Happy Birthday” for him a year after Monroe’s rendition. While this was heavily speculated for some time, her feat was confirmed when a letter was unearthed.

The letter and envelope sent to the Breakfast at Tiffany’s star can be viewed at the JFK Archives. Eyewitnesses told what it said: “18. June 1963 – Dear Audrey, I want you to know how much I appreciate all the effort and time you put into making my birthday party on May 23rd in New York such a success.” It was lovely and I am very grateful to you for the contribution you made to making it so enjoyable. With all good wishes, kind regards [John F. Kennedy] – Miss Audrey Hepburn, 100 Delfern, Beverly Hills, California.”
For those who don’t know, Kennedy reportedly had an affair with both Monroe and Hepburn. While Monroe’s is quite well known, Hepburn’s is full of secrets. However, Christopher Anderson’s book “Jack and Jackie: Portrait of an American Marriage” went into much more detail about the allegations.

He claimed that not only did Kennedy and the Roman holiday legend have an affair, but that she also showed him a side of herself that no one else really got to see. “She was extremely intelligent, well-read and had a lot of fun,” Anderson wrote. “Audrey had this infectious laugh – pretty much what you saw on screen – but she also had this very sexy, very sassy side that audiences never saw.”
Their affair was short-lived, but it seemed like they remained on a peer level since she sang for him.
