For a meal that will satisfy seafood or steakhouse fans, there’s a place to explore on Montreal’s South Shore. Located on Kahnawake (Kahnawà:ke), the reservation home to the Mohawk First Nation, is the delightful Mirela’s Restaurant.
This eatery next to the Magic Palace Casino not only has a luxurious decor with its huge illuminated bar, plants that bring the place to life and the intricate designs of the walls and floors, but also a menu that will make your mouth water .
For fans of shrimp, lobster and other seafood delights, there are several ways to make the decision difficult. Whether it’s Mediterranean, Starters, Seafood Bar or any of the other categories, there are many choices and you’ll just want to say, “I’ll have one of each”.
Oysters, crab, sharing platters, salmon and tuna tartare and Icelandic cod are examples of what you can choose from. However, we have a crush on the deliciously tender octopus, which you can order as an appetizer or by taking one of the two Mediterranean platters of grilled prawns, Rockefeller oysters, and seared squid.
The pappardelle with sea lobster and creamy truffle sauce should also be on your bucket list if you love these shellfish. It comes with a lobster tail layered over a generous helping of pasta and truffles, and it’s simply a feast for the eyes… and stomach.
On the meat side, the Wagyu burger, tomahawk, steaks and grilled meats compete. The lamb chops also deserve a mention as they managed to win over a colleague who isn’t usually a fan though. The sauce and the perfect preparation of this dish make it drastically different from other places.
In the cozy and trendy atmosphere, with one of their drinks in hand, all you need is the right company to make this outing a happy hour to remember. If you want to have fun there is show nights on Thursdays and for a good brunch it is on Sundays. So you can visit it from Sunday to Thursday from 17:00 to 22:00 or Friday and Saturday from 17:00 to 23:00.
