2003 Montreal Canadiens first-round pick Andrei Kostitsyn started his second career in hockey.
Last week, Continental Hockey League (KHL) club Dynamo Minsk announced the hiring of the 38-year-old Belarusian as head of its sports department and chief scout.
Kostitsyn played 398 games in the National League, including 379 with the Bleu Blanc Rouge. He has 99 goals and 111 assists, giving him 210 career points in the top league in the world.
The winger made the jump to the KHL after a brief 19-game stint with the Nashville Predators in the 2011-12 season. There he continued to develop for several formations, including between 2018 and 2020 for Dynamo.
Kostitsyn retired as a player according to the terms of the 2020–2021 season where he played for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk (KHL) and Pardubice HC (Czech Republic).
