It all started when the victim, a 25-year-old man, called the police to say he had just been attacked at his home on rue Galt Ouest.

When police arrived, they found the man had been hit in the head with a blunt object, Sherbrooke Police spokesman Benoit Pellerin said. His injuries required hospitalization but were not life-threatening.

Despite this, the victim was able to provide investigators with a good description of his attackers and their vehicle.

Just 90 minutes later, patrol officers spotted the suspect vehicle outside a bar on downtown Wellington Street South. An operation was therefore launched to apprehend the suspects.

Two men known to police, aged 24 and 28, have been arrested and are charged with assault with a weapon. An 18-year-old woman, meanwhile, has been released with a promise to appear.

The reasons that led the three people to attack the victim were not given.
