Three children were stabbed outside a school in Dublin

At least three children were injured and taken to hospital after a knife attack outside a school in the center Dublin. The police in the Irish capital announced that it was a “serious accident”. According to an initial reconstruction by local media, a man attacked several people.

According to the Irish public broadcaster Rte, a total of five people were injured, including three children, two adults, a woman and a man. The latter is believed to be the same attacker who was also taken to hospital.
First he hit the woman, then the three children. The local police want to question him as quickly as possible. Police have ruled out a terrorist motive and believe it was an isolated and unrelated incident. It remains to be clarified whether it was an attack by a madman or an attack triggered by personal motivations. Among the injured, two are in serious condition: the woman and a little girl. Just before 2pm local time, police and emergency services were called to a serious incident in Parnell Square East in Dublin city centre. The area is cordoned off by officers as they attempt to reconstruct the incident. Ireland’s Justice Minister Helen McEntee said she was “deeply shocked by the appalling attack on three innocent children and a woman.”
