A 28-year-old lawyer who took up the offer of three operations for the price of one would have died in Mexico from complications and her surgeon would be under investigation for likely operating in secret.
On September 26, 28-year-old Yuritzi Gabriela Gutiérrez traveled to the city of Ecatepec de Morelos, near Mexico City, to undergo lipotransfer, buttock remodeling and bichectomy, a cheek operation, after taking advantage of a surgeon’s offer wanted with whom she had previously done business for liposuction, local media “Diario de Yucatàn” reported.
A few hours later, doctors contacted her mother and told her the operations had gone well until the woman began suffering from a complication that forced her transfer to La Perla General Hospital in the Mexican capital, the Spanish translation said Media.
However, according to her mother, doctors declared the woman brain dead after suffering convulsions.
According to Diario de Yucatàn, after eight days she would have been transferred to a larger hospital, the IMSS General Hospital in La Raza.
Meanwhile, the family is said to have discovered that surgeon Daniel Malagón Montalvo was operating in secret after his former clinic was forced to close its doors by the Federal Commission for Protection from Health Risks (Cofepris), the Spanish newspaper added.
His relatives are now calling for an investigation to establish the exact circumstances of his death, appealing on social media to anyone who may have suffered from the surgeon’s negligence or botched operation.
