Three members of the same family are admitted to several hospitals after a fire in their home in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), reports a spokesman for the emergency number 112 of the Community of Madrid. These are a 65-year-old man suffering from mild symptoms of smoke inhalation and minor burns to his face, his 54-year-old wife with mild poisoning and his 28-year-old son also with mild poisoning.

The fire occurred at dawn, around 1:45 a.m., on the ground floor of 15 Ramón María del Valle Inclán Street, a block with four other floors. “The fire developed in several rooms of the house and within a few minutes the stairwell was flooded with smoke,” explains the spokesman. After several neighbors called 112, seven firefighters from the Community of Madrid and a health unit from Summa 112 and the Red Cross were mobilized.

Firefighters trapped residents on the upper floors to avoid problems with smoke while other firefighters attacked the source of the fire. “There were four apartments on each floor, so there were a lot of neighbors,” explains the spokesman. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters took measurements inside the homes to ensure it was safe for residents to return.

Prince of Asturias with mild poisoning.

In the house, the living room, the kitchen and the first four were “completely affected by the flames, let alone the other rooms”. State police and local police are investigating the incident. At this time the cause of the fire is unknown.
