This week, three disturbances will bring a mix of rainfall to the province that will need to be monitored. Explanations.

1. A huge low pressure system

A low pressure complex coming from the United States reaches Quebec. In reality, this depression will take the form of three impulses followed by pauses. Each will bring its share of rainfall.

2. Weather cocktail

The first pulse is expected to emerge north of the US border. It could also snow lightly on the mainland during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday morning. From Wednesday evening to Thursday morning, the second pulse could bring drizzle and freezing rain, from Outaouais to Montreal to Montérégie. The third pulse of the low pressure area is expected to bring a mix of precipitation Thursday evening into Friday morning. Ice and heavy snow are expected. There could even be some sleet. This time the rainfall will extend further north, affecting the Hautes-Laurentides, Mauricie and the Capitale-Nationale.

3. Black ice: where and when?

The freezing weather is expected to arrive Thursday morning. There is a risk of drizzle and freezing rain for the Outaouais and Montreal. Freezing rain could also hit the Laurentians, Drummondville and Estrie, although the risk is lower. There will be another pulse of precipitation from Thursday evening into Friday morning, this time with the risk of freezing rain and sleet. From Outaouais to the metropolitan area the road could be slippery. The Laurentians and areas near the American border in Estrie and Beauce are also being monitored. Caution is therefore advised on the roads.
