The three arrested suspects were caught red-handed shortly before 1 a.m. just after breaking the window of the Achtarout bakery on Rue Charles-De La Tour. They were about to throw Molotov cocktails in when the police intervened and handcuffed them.
The three young people – two men aged 16 and 17 and a woman aged 19 – tried to escape in a vehicle, but were quickly caught and subsequently arrested.
In addition to incendiary devices, cell phones and “other evidence” were also confiscated, the authorities said.
The trio was met by investigators and criminal charges are expected to be filed soon in this case.
Boulangerie Achtarout has been targeted several times in the last six months.

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, at approximately 12:30 p.m., shots were fired towards a bakery on Rue Charles-De-LaTour in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood of Montreal. PASCAL GIRARD/AGENCE QM
The store’s windows were shot at twice and criminals set the bakery on fire four times. If the police had not intervened on Friday evening, it would have been the fifth time that the company had been the victim of arson.
To this day it is unclear why this company in particular is the target of this series of attacks.
