The Carolina Panthers experience the best and worst of NFL situations this week.

They lost to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, but didn’t have to put up with it for long as they play on Thursday this week. Unfortunately, a four-day processing period doesn’t leave players much time to recover from an injury (or just general wear and tear from play), and the Panthers are already dealing with injured players (they currently have 12 on injured reserve) .

The Panthers, who have just one win in eight tries, had to process it all by Thursday before facing the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Luckily for the Panthers, the Bears have their own problems.

While the Panthers’ rookie quarterback Bryce Young has done a good job (though not at the level of Houston’s CJ Stroud) and improved over time, the Bears have found themselves in quarterback purgatory. Justin Fields hasn’t played since Week 6 due to a thumb injury, and the Bears have started undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent in four straight games (including Thursday night’s contest). Fields was officially ruled out again on Thursday and it is unclear when he will return.

The Panthers may be struggling at 1-7, but the Bears are struggling at 2-7. Who will come out on top?
