The Sporting Cristal manager spoke after the Blue and Whites failed to show up for the Liga 1 2023 clash.
Sporting Crystal defeated Alianza Lima on the third day of the League 1 Betsson 2023. The blue and white team stuck to their position of not participating in the local tournament until the TV rights issue is resolved. Afterward, Tiago NunesSporting Cristal coach, gave a press conference and was surprised by the result of this game.
“Nothing like this has ever happened to me. It’s a new experience and I couldn’t have imagined winning a game like this. That’s no good for anyone: we love competition. Even more so in a classic we’ve all been waiting for to fully satisfy our people and with a packed stadium,” he explained.
“It happened to us now. We have to do our best and prepare for the next game. We are ready because in the end, beyond the domestic tournament, we also have international competition and we have to be ready with the team to play and compete at the highest level,” added the Brazilian.
When is the next Sporting Cristal game?
Sporting Crystal will face Carlos A. Mannucci for the fourth date of the League 1 Betsson 2022. This duel is scheduled for Sunday February 12th at 15:00 at the Mansiche in Trujillo.
Likewise, the light blue team will debut in the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday February 22 at 14:00 (Peruvian time). The players led by Tiago Nunes play against the winner of the key game between Sport Huancayo and Nacional de Paraguay.
