Airlines from Tibet Express Interest in Chinese Aircraft, Garnering 50 Inquiries

Tibet Airlines has placed a total of 50 orders for Chinese C919 and ARJ21 aircraft models

Comac announced today (20), on the first day of the 2024 Singapore Airshow, that Tibet Airlines has ordered a total of 50 Chinesemade aircraft.

There will be 40 units of a new highaltitude variant of the C919 model, with a different fuselage and reinforced landing gear for short runways. This is the result of an agreement signed between the parties in December, which provides for the development of a dedicated narrowbody for the region, the highest in the world. In addition, ten ARJ21 regional aircraft were ordered.

According to the Chinese government, more than 1,000 orders for the C919 have already been registered, mostly from customers in the region. In an interview with Portal, Gao Dongyue, an executive at Tibet Airlines, said the special variant of the model does not yet have a launch plan as it is still under development.
