Tiffany Haddish responds to haters who accused her of ‘harassing’ Shakira at the MTV VMAs: ‘Thank you to everyone who made me more famous and relevant’

Tiffany Haddish is responding to the growing number of people calling her out for photobombing and “harassing” Shakira during the MTV Video Music Awards.

“Shakira! Shakira!’ Haddish screamed several times, including as she tried to navigate a crowded room while Shakira posed for selfies, and then abruptly walked away without acknowledging Haddish’s loud screams.

The Girls Trip star photographed Shakira several times as she attempted to pose for photographers while holding her two awards.

It didn’t take long for Haddish’s name to become trendy, especially due to the growing backlash as fans accused her of harassing the Latin singer.

But the comedian hit back on Saturday, telling her critics that the noise online doesn’t bother her.

“When people make videos about me or talk about me, good or bad.” “I just think thank you all for making me more known and relevant,” she posted on

Haddish addressed the backlash for the first time on Friday, reiterating her celebrity status.

“This is soooooo interesting to me.” If you feel like I did [sic] Much better, you all buy @shakira new album!’ She wrote.

“This experience made me realize how popular I really am.” I value all your opinions…”

She ended the tweet with “Thank you, Shana Tova,” which means “Happy New Year” in Hebrew.

Essentially, Haddish is taking the “all news is good news” approach to explaining all the haters who criticized her behavior backstage at the VMAs.

“As long as people see me, I’m still important. “I don’t think that’s relevant,” one person shared to the contrary.’

The backlash to her photobomb antics had already been mounting during the VMAs broadcast, with comments like “Um… ain’t no one in this world going to pull Tiffany Haddish aside?” and “Someone needs to give this girl a time out like she needs to be stopped.” .”

As for her new X-comment that the backlash has made her “more famous and relevant,” many users couldn’t disagree more.

‘Relevant?!?? “Lmfaoooooooo no you’re just being ripped off,” summed up what a lot of people were thinking, as did the comment: “Any publicity is not good publicity.”

“Girl… I’m sure no one wants to be where you are.” It’s sad that you think that. “Bless your heart, tink tink,” another from Haddish

Haddish wasn’t without her supporters, who reached out to X to say a few kind words.

Haddish’s photobombing of Shakira also occurred during the awards show itself, when the stand-up comedian snuck up behind Latinx singer Karol G while she was posing with Shakira.

Despite all her loud antics to get Shakira’s attention and despite all the photobombing, Shakira ended up posing with Haddish on the red carpet backstage.

But another photo appears to show Haddish abruptly entering Shakira’s shot as she holds the two VMAs she won for Best Collaboration with Karol G for TQG and the Video Vanguard Award.
