Tiffany Haddish Talks Drunk Driving Arrest: ‘I’m Going to Get Help’

Tiffany Haddish opens up about her arrest in Beverly Hills after falling asleep at the wheel.

The Girls Trip star was charged by authorities with drunk driving after he dozed off in the middle of the road. In a new interview, Haddish says she will seek help after the incident.

“I’m going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries,” the comedian told ET.

Haddish also assured that “this will never happen again.” According to the actress, before the incident, she was at the Laugh Factory and helped feed the underprivileged on Thanksgiving Day and also performed a special comedy performance.

On Friday night, Haddish spoke about the arrest during an appearance at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, California.

“What happened last night?” Haddish said hours after the news broke, she was charged with drunken driving. “Ah, damn. You tell me. I don’t know.”

She then joked: “I prayed to God to send me a man with work, preferably in uniform.”

“God answered my prayers,” she said. “Because God believes in me.”

This wasn’t the first time Haddish was arrested for driving under the influence. In 2022, Haddish was involved in a similar situation in Georgia. After the incident, Haddish appeared on The Tonight Show where she made a similar joke.

“I can say this, Jimmy…I prayed to God to send me a new man. A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four…in uniform,” Haddish told Fallon.

She continued, “And now I have a really great lawyer and we’re going to work this out. I need to be a little better at asking God for things!”
