TikTok users who underwent TORT TOE surgery are being targeted by online trolls for their “gremlin feet”.

A Florida woman who underwent toe-shortening surgery over the holidays has been mercilessly taunted by online trolls who claim she now has “gremlin feet”.

The TikTok user, known only as Athena, has shared a series of before and after videos documenting her toe transformation, including her consultation and post-op results.

After years of struggling with the appearance of her long, crooked toes, she commissioned Dr. Abraham Wagner of Jaws Podiatry in Hollywood, Florida performing the cosmetic procedure.

“For as long as I could remember, my toes have been a major insecurity for me. So I decided to give myself a new pair of toes this Christmas,” she explained in a recent clip.

“I’m so happy with the results,” she added. “The best decision I could have made. If you’ve ever fought with your feet, you know the feeling.”

Toe shortening surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that involves trimming a toe so it doesn’t extend beyond the big toe, according to the Jaws Podiatry website.

Surgeons can use one of two methods: joint resection (arthroplasty) or bone bending (fusion). Joint resection removes a piece of the small toe joint, while bone repair shortens the toe by removing an entire small joint.

Athena had her second, third and fourth toes trimmed during the operation, which lasted about an hour and a half. She was given a local anesthetic and incisions were made between and under her toes.

She was awake the whole time and actually filmed herself during the procedure.

“Fifteen minutes since surgery and no pain so far,” she said while Dr. Wagner worked on her toes. “I feel a slight pressure, like a slight tingling, but that’s about it. I’m actually quite sleepy, so I might fall asleep.’

The video then shows her feet being wrapped and placed in post-operative surgical shoes.

“I went home after the operation!” she wrote in the text on the screen. “I was sent home with painkillers, antibiotics and a care kit with everything I needed for my recovery.”

She went viral after the surgery, with one of her before and after videos being viewed more than a million times.

“My toes were just a big insecurity for me…[especially] when I wore heels. It wasn’t cute!’ she explained. “So I found the solution and took the chance.”

Many commenters didn’t know what to make of the operation, and some admitted they didn’t even know it was possible.

Others who have similar insecurities about their toes wanted to know all about the procedure.

Athena showed off her toes in a recent video a month after surgery, but not everyone was impressed with the results. The swelling in her toes can last up to six months, and some thought they just looked short and stubby.
