Tip your Amazon driver for free by saying these magic words to Alexa

Amazon has reintroduced its free $5 “Thank You” tip for delivery drivers, giving the e-commerce giant's shoppers more than one way to send it.

The initiative announced Tuesday marks the second time Amazon has tipped its U.S. delivery drivers on behalf of shoppers during the holiday season. This year, the company announced that starting Tuesday it will send drivers $5 along with thank you messages for the first 2 million customers who say “thank you,” totaling $10 million.

To convey their appreciation to their delivery driver, online shoppers can instruct their Alexa-enabled device or the Alexa app to thank them by saying “Alexa, thank my driver.” The other method is to type “Thanks, my driver” into the search bar on the Amazon website or app.

This “thank you” goes to the person who delivered the last order to the buyer who decides to use this feature.
