To prevent this from happening in the first place – especially during the Christmas holidays, experts recommend the following measures.
1. Mechanical safety technology

In new buildings, you should only use windows and doors that have been tested and certified as burglar-resistant. The door elements tested and burglar-resistant according to Ö-Norm B5338 are those in resistance class (WK) 3 with multiple locking and distance locking.

3. Securing windows
