CNN –

In just five words, a recent tweet from Kraft Heinz sparked a small debate about how to store your ketchup.

“FYI,” began the tweet from the UK-based subsidiary of the food and drink company. “Ketchup. Goes. In. The. Fridge!!!”

Kraft Heinz, whose ketchup is one of his favorite condiments, shared the heavily-interrupted statement in a reached tweet on Tuesday over 4 million people.

A day later, via a Twitter poll, the company asked the public whether they kept their ketchup refrigerated or in the pantry.

“Where do you keep yours? It must be… in the fridge!” says the survey. The answer “fridge” seemed to be the consensus, according to the poll results. 63.2% of the more than 13,000 votes cast were in favor. Meanwhile, 36.8% of those surveyed said they would rather have their ketchup in the cupboard.

Some Twitter users who expressed their dislike for cold ketchup pointed out that ketchup bottles are stored at room temperature on restaurant tables. Other users didn’t understand the need for a debate, claiming that once the ketchup bottle was opened, it belonged in the refrigerator.

In 2017, a Twitter user posed the same question to Heinz’s US subsidiary via the social media site.

At the time, Heinz replied, “Due to its natural acidity, Heinz ketchup has a shelf life, but refrigerate after opening.” maintaining product quality.”
