Testimony to Countercurrent: “The children are very depressed”
“While walking to the Central Market we were hit by four bombs, we had to crawl to escape and to eat we had to search for something saved from the fire.” It is the dramatic testimony of a Ukrainian family, who managed to save herself one of the Russian attacks on the city of Mariupol, one of the hardest hit by the conflict.
TO “countercurrent”The family explained the strong impact that the war is having on their children: “Children are very depressed they say sometimes they do not even respond to explosions. The youngest screamed hysterically: Let’s go for a walk, because he’s been in the basement for a week and he was terribly cold. When we got out, a bomb fell two meters from ours, we could only land. From that moment my kids didn’t want to go out for a week.”
