TO SEE | A runaway ox wanders along the tracks of a train

A young, loose ox was caught wandering on the railroad tracks at Penn Station in Newark, New Jersey, Thursday morning.

The event brought together many passengers who did not shy away from documenting the event on social networks, the local ABC station reported.

“I looked out the window and there he was, just trotting along the tracks,” Jason Monticelli said. I thought maybe it was a Red Bulls promotional strategy or something since the stadium is right there, but yeah, he was just plodding along. We were just trying to understand where he was coming from.”

The animal was calmed down and captured safely; no one was injured. The ox, now named Ricardo, was taken into the care of an animal rescue organization.

We still don't know how the horned animal got there.

The incident still caused a 45-minute slowdown between Newark Station and New York Station due to police intervention.
