Tom Brady has insisted there will be no looking back if he decides to hang up his shoes a second time after his decision not to retire earlier in the season resulted in an ugly divorce contributed by his now supermodel ex-wife Gisele Bundchen.

The 45-year-old, who is considered by many to be the greatest quarterback of all time, hinted that he might better anticipate the day he will finally retire after, in April, just two months after his initial retirement, returned to the NFL.

“Well, I think next time I decide to retire, that’s it for me, so we’ll find out whenever that day comes,” Brady said in the latest episode of his “Let’s Go.” !“ movie. Podcast on Monday.

“I think what really became clear to me last year was that you have to be really sure that you’re doing that,” he added. “And for me, you know, a lot of people have been through that situation… I’ll take my time whenever that time comes.”

After Tampa Bay’s first-round elimination from the playoffs in January, the majority of football fans thought the seven-time Super Bowl winner would end his extraordinary 22-year career.

And he did … although Brady said 40 days after originally announcing his retirement in February that he would be returning to the Buccaneers for the 2022-23 season

He later revealed in a previous episode of his podcast that he felt like he had “a little more” in the tank and that the “competitive fire still burns” after beating the reigning Super Bowl champions in the LA Rams was thrown in the postseason.

However, in October, Brady and Bundchen announced that they had finalized their divorce, ending 13 years of marriage. The announcement came barely a month into the current NFL season.

The former couple’s marriage had been the subject of intense speculation earlier in the year after Brady was released from retirement and Bundchen expressed concerns about football’s violence on Brady’s long-term health.

That didn’t matter to the supermodel’s ex-husband as he is now in his 23rd season in the league and is making sure he makes the playoffs for the third straight season with the Buccaneers since joining Tampa Bay in 2020.

Brady has only missed the postseason once in his career and the veteran quarterback will be a free agent by the end of the season, though his sole focus is avoiding a scenario like 2002 when the New England Patriots didn’t make it out of the AFC East.

“I have a tremendously important job that the team is asking of me and I want to go out there and do my best in the final two weeks of the regular season,” Brady said.

The Buccaneers (7-8) can claim first spot in the NFC South with a win over the Panthers (6-9) on Sunday.

Tampa Bay’s regular season ends Jan. 8 against the Atlanta Falcons (5-10).
