Tom Brady Responds to Rob Gronkowski’s Proposal to Date Sally Field

Tom Brady’s former teammate Rob Gronkowski suggested that Sally Field could be a potential love match for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback following his divorce from Gisele Bundchen.

The 33-year-old retired retiree brought up the idea with Brady, 45, after discussing Brady’s chemistry with the 76-year-old actress during a scene in their upcoming sports comedy 80 For Brady.

“Tom, have you thought about dating Sally Field after that Oscar-worthy performance, or what?” Gronkowski jokingly asked during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Let’s Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray” on Monday.

“We had kind of a little thing on camera, you know what’s going on,” admitted the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

“Well, it was actually nice. We really enjoyed our time together. So we’ll see how it goes from here.”

“Yeah, I know I noticed that,” Gronkowski said as Brady laughed.

“She and Jane Fonda also had a good scene that was a little bit … I thought that was really spicy,” Brady told Gronkowski.

“I knew you would say that!” exclaimed the New York native.

“It really was,” Brady said. “I was excited to see it.

“I think a lot of Gronk fans will be excited to see it. And all the Jane Fonda fans over here. You will love to see that.”

“Yes, they are,” Gronkowski agreed.

Gronkowski joined the podcast ahead of the Buccaneers’ playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, which Brady’s team lost 31-14.

Field stars in the film alongside Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Rita Moreno. You play four best friends and Brady superfans who travel together to Houston, Texas to watch the New England Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons in the 2017 Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LI featured the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history after the Patriots overcame a 28-3 deficit to win the game. In addition to Brady and Gronkowski, other Patriots players appeared in the film, including retired wide receiver Julian Edelman and former wide receiver Danny Amendola.

Field expressed her excitement at meeting with the NFL stars for the film’s premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Jan. 6.

During the screening, the two-time Oscar winner told the audience that she was waiting to meet the star athletes before they arrived on set for the first time.

“I was the one out there that welcomed everyone,” she recalled during a panel discussion with Fonda, Moreno and Tomlin, according to Variety.

“There was nobody else there,” quipped Tomlin, 82. “No PAs out there, just Sally.”

Field continued, “I was out there, ‘Hi guys! I’m so glad you guys are here.’

“I wanted them to be comfortable. I was a fan and welcomed them out there.”

The Forrest Gump star also gushed about Brady during an interview with ahead of the screening.

“He’s clearly a performer,” Field told THR. “He knows where to put any kind of adrenaline he might have and knows how to push it over the top. He’s an amazing one-off athlete and it’s really hard to be around him.

“Just the fact that I was there, I mean I was a fan and I watched him play – who doesn’t have that? He is truly stunning, not only for his physical abilities but also for his mental abilities. He’s a chess player out there [on the field].”

At the panel, Fonda gushed about Brady’s good looks as she described being thrilled to meet him.

“Tom Brady, I think he went into all of our trailers one at a time,” she recalled during a question and answer session, according to Variety. “And when he finally walked into my trailer, my knees gave out.

“I had to hold on to something. I mean he’s beautiful. He is so beautiful.”

Fonda, a seven-time Golden Globe Award winner, praised Brady for his good manners and recalled, “Tom was so lovely when he first came on set to buy lunch.

“It was the first time he went to each of our trailers which were our dressing rooms and he introduced himself as if we didn’t know who he was.

“But again a true gentleman. He was lovable. And I had one of these giant football sweatshirts for him because my nephew is a huge fan and he was so lovely. and [Tom] wrote on it for him and my nephew has it in a frame on the wall now. [Tom] just has such good manners.”

During her interview with THR, Tomlin complimented Brady on his acting skills.

“He’s a good actor,” she told the outlet. “He’s very personable and humble.”

She described Brady’s appearance during a lengthy scene they share together in the film.

“Just looking at his face and eyes and watching him listen to me while an actor tried to retaliate in the same way felt like that was me [real-life] Woman from Boston who was in her 80s,” said the Grace & Frankie graduate. “I actually felt like he was my son when I had to give that speech with him.”

Last summer, Brady told the outlet he was very impressed watching the veteran actresses perform on set.

“We found the most amazing actresses,” said the first-time producer. “Lily, Jane, Rita and Sally. You brought everything to life. At the end of the day, watching them act and perform was so cool.”

Directed by Kyle Marvin, the film also stars Billy Porter, Rob Corddry, Sara Gilbert, Glynn Turman, Bob Balaban, Ron Funches, Jimmy O. Yang, Harry Hamlin and Guy Fieri.

80 For Brady hits theaters on February 3rd.
