Tom Cruise reflected on the amount of work he does in Hollywood. When interviewed to promote his new film, Top Gun: Maverick, when asked what he does on his days off, the 59yearold actor said he didn’t know the right answer because he couldn’t remember having a day off take day off.
Speaking to Contact Music’s Bella rep, he said: “This is a day off for me because I’m not filming! I’m just hanging out I have no days off. Look, I’m lucky, I’m lucky. I’ve spent my life doing sets, films and traveling around the world, which is something I’ve always wanted to do. So this is not work. I’m living the dream!” Tom replied.
As well as the second ‘Top Gun’ film to make its theatrical debut, Tom Cruise also has the ‘Mission: Impossible’ sequel this year. Director Doug Liman, who worked with the actor on Edge of Tomorrow in 2014 and Made in America in 2017, confirmed Tom’s line in interviews. “When you work with Tom, it’s a 7day job. No matter how hard you think you work, and I’ve seen myself like that, nothing compares to Tom,” the director said in an interview with Deadline in May.
Doug also recalled asking Tom what he would do for his birthday after 40 or 50 days of filming. “I was tired beyond measure and said, ‘Would you like to have an eighthour meeting on your birthday?’ And he said, ‘Yes, I want that for my birthday. I want to make a movie best birthday present'” said the director.
