In the clip, Cruise was on a plane over South Africa with Christopher McQuarrie, 54, who wrote the screenplay for Top Gun: Maverick and is directing parts one and two of the movie Mission: Impossible.

The A-list actor, 60 – who received a Best Actor nomination from the AARP Awards last week for his role in Top Gun: Maverick – told fans he wanted to show his gratitude as the holidays drew near.
