Tom Holland on SpiderMan 4: "It has to be worth it for the character"

Tom Holland shared a new update on the status of his Peter Parker Marvel Cinematic Universeas there is still no signal for a direct continuation of the hit SpiderMan: No Way Home (2021).

“All I can say is that we’re having conversations about what a fourth chapter could be for my character,” he said during a press conference for the Critics Choice Association (via Collider). “Whether we find a way to honor him is a different story. I’m very protective of SpiderMan and I’m honored to be able to work on a franchise that gets better with every film, which I think is rare.” So I won’t make another film just to make it myself. It has to be worth it for the character.”

In June this year, the star had already confirmed meetings to develop the project, but the talks were still very early and were interrupted due to the strike by Hollywood actors and screenwriters.

Holland debuted as SpiderMan in Captain America: Civil War (2016) and then starred in three solo films produced in collaboration with the two Wonder and that Sony. The most recent film was SpiderMan: No Return Home (2021), which grossed more than $1.9 billion at the global box office.
